3 words: What a Weekend

Friday started off with work at the restaurant! Same old, same old another couples night...haha

But Saturday was a very exciting, busy day. I had Students to Students on Saturday morning for my first time. I was a little nervous to give a speech (even though it wasn't very long). I think I ended up doing okay. Once I got over the issue of having my face turn red haha everything else went well.

Later that night....was the charity event I was scheduled to work for Mooo...Restaurant. The charity was called Helping Hands. This organization trains monkeys to assist those who are disabled. One of the woman who works for our Columbus Restaurant Group, is very passionate about this cause. The owner of the 5 restaurants was generous enough to provide all of the food (for free!) to the charity event! This is where Aaron and I come in. We were at the Mooo...table and were handing out our famous sliders. This is my second event for the restaurant but my first time I got to decorate the table by myself!!!

The Saturday night was topped off when my friends from other schools came to stay over. I was so excited to see them and spend time with them. They are such awesome, positive people and I always have a good time with them.

cheers,

Silent Auction

This past weekend was the silent auction for Alternative Spring Break. Although some of the donations came in a little late, we had a successful auction. The auction rasied over $1000 for our trip, which is a huge contribution considering we are thinking about adding a fourth trip. We try to make the trip free for everyone (it was last year for all three trips!). Planning this ASB silent auction, gave me some great ideas on how to improve next year. Hosting the auction on family weekend was such a great idea. Parents are so supportive of our cause and were really interested in to what we did when we were down in Mississippi.

It looks like we are going to Meridian MS this year! I'm so excited to continue with hurricane relief because there are still so many families that need help! As a leader, I am taking it upon myself to spread the message to everyone.

Cheers,

Apple Picking

This weekend was a blast. I haven't been home in a while, so I was excited to be reunited with my family and friends. On Sunday, it was gorgeous weather out- sunny and cold my favorite type of weather!! We took a ride up to North Andover to go apple picking with my best friend's family. It was so nice to be able to relax and spend sometime with my family. We had some hot chocolate, picked out a pumpkin and ate lots of apples.

I also ordered my costume for Halloween!!! Yeah, I've decided to be Tinkerbell! My costume should be coming this week.

Sadly the fun stops here; I can't even start to explain how much I have due this week: 5 page paper, Physical Science test, Journalism I test, and ASB Silent Auction. Basically my to do list is continuous and does not seem to be getting any small.

Well I've got to go give a tour!

Cheers

Its only Tuesday?

For some reason this week is going by extremely slow. I think it's because I am going home this weekend. I can't wait, I'm going apple picking with family and friends :) and looking forward to selecting a pumpkin and making apple pie.

This week I'm just trying to focus on getting assignments out of the way. The amount of work I have for one class is a little over the top, but what can you do! I just need to set aside sometime when I can make my science study guide and start preparing for my honors literature essay.

Advising is coming up soon too (wow where did the month of September go?) so I'm brainstorming what classes I want/need to take and how I want me schedule to look like. I'm going to try to get all my classes on just a couple of days (cross my fingers).

GOOD NEWS: Hopefully, if all goes well, I'll be doing another internship next semester/summer. I did one this past summer and learned so much. Boston is the best city for intnernships. I try to stress this to all my tours that if you are thinking about internships and are really interested in getting real life experience than Boston is a great networking area!

Well it's another busy Tuesday, class, class, meeting, work until close! Oh well at least tomorrow is Wednesday (hump day). All I've got to do is get through the next couple of days and I'll be home with my friends and family! Yeah.

Cheers to all,
